In 1754 the area where the Moberlys and Richard Hill lived became Bedford Co., VA. The tithe list is really a tax list and contained heads of families and males 16 years and up. Sons would come onto the list with their fathers when they reached the age of 16. We can say that Benjamin Moberly was born about 1732, Mordecai Moberly and Hamon about 1734, William Hill, son of Richard, about 1734. Note in 1748 there is two Richard Hills, and is one the father of Richard Hill that married Dorcas Moberly. The Richard Hill, on Mathew Talbots list, may be the Richard Hill who was dead by 6 June 1758. An Account of the estate of Richard Hill, decd-Not total given. Lunenburg Co., VA will book 1 page 236. His estate appraised at value of 14 pounds 17 shillings 3 pence. Recorded 6 June 1758. Lunenbury Co., VA Will BK 1 p 239.
