TAYLOR GENERATION TWO

2. JOHN2 TAYLOR,
(William1 Taylor Sr), b ca 1766 NC d 19 Mar 1815 Washington, Mississippi Territory m 1st ca 1792 ______ m2nd ca 1802 Mary Sweeten. It is believed that John was living in Smith County, TN by 1814. On 20 Jan 1814, John witnessed a deed for David Taylor on Wildcat Branch of Indian Creek. On 13 Nov 1814, John enlisted in Captain Edward Robinson’s Company of Colonel James Raulston’s Third Regiment Infantry. At Battle of New Orleans the Third Regiment was in forces commanded by Major General William Carroll. After the Battle of New Orleans on 8 Jan 1815, John contracted yellow fever and was sent from New Orleans by boat up the Mississippi River to Natchez, where he died on 19 Mar 1815.
