b ca 1782 Cumberland Co., NC He married Unknown. Some Johnson researcher
have Barnabas married to a New England Hitchcock. This is extremely doubtful as
how would he have met her to get married. There is no Hitchcock’s in Edgecombe
or Cumberland Counties, NC. He would have married in Cumberland Co., NC and no
Hitchcock there.

Dry Creek DeKalb Co., Tn Census.). He married first 4 Feb , 1807 Cumberland Co.,
NC Sarah Jones m2nd 30 Dec 1826 Johnston Co., NC Nancy Morris. He married (3)
Mary Cantrell-Durham Aft. 1826. On 14 Feb 1844, Hardy Johnson and Polly Johnson
for love and affection we entertain for Eliab Durham, son of Abraham and Polly
Durham, give him 13 year old girl slave. Hardy made his will on 17 Jan 1854 and
it was proven Mar 1854. He named his wife, Mary; and his
children, Enoch Johnson, Olif Daniels formerly Olif Johnson,, Barnabas L.
Johnson, and the bodily heirs of my daughter Elizabeth Murphy deceased. He named
his son, B. L. Johnson, his executor.
